Blog Hop Giveaway: Just Couldn't Put It Down

The Giveaway Hop has finished, but read on for a couple of cool summer reads!

It's Summer in North Carolina as I write this with the temperatures hovering in the mid-90's and my air conditioner so broken it's not even gasping (bad controller and blower, the experts tell me). So right at this moment, I am so-o-o in need of something cold. If I'm going to read, it had better be about chilly weather.

There are two books I can suggest that bring a bit  of frosty snow into my hot world and that I just couldn't put down -- one I read for pleasure and the other a novella I've been writing for a Christmas-in-July deadline.

A FAIRYTALE CHRISTMAS
by Susan Wiggs

Ace reporter Jack Riley has a Fairy Godfather, sort of, in this delightful reversal of the Cinderella story. In Jack's case, he's meeting his new publisher Madeleine Langston at a fancy Christmas party, and it's anyone's guess if the Ice Maiden and Scruffy Guy -- turned debonair Texan in a tux -- will recognize the match they could be. A quick read, characters that jump off the page, a holiday romance with unexpected magic. I read this in one sitting, just like I might devour a frozen Dove bar.

RESTORE MY HEART - A CHRISTMAS CONNECTION
by LaVerne St. George
Release Date July 10, 2018
Just couldn't put this one down because... well, because it's mine.

Sally Myers is no fan of the holidays or of working-class men who don’t fit into her new life as a college-educated professional. Enter Jefferson Campbell, a master craftsman who arrives in town to restore the vintage carousel. Sally wants no part of Jeff’s “hands-on” approach, and the fact that he’ll soon be leaving for another restoration job earns Jeff no points. But the “carousel man” is smitten and makes a holiday wish – that he’ll grab the brass ring and win Sally’s heart.

Have a happy Christmas In July and a wonderful summer!
