CLEAR YOUR SHELF! Blog Hop Giveaway

2018
A pivotal year for me as an author. I signed with a literary agent, my novels have been finalists or winners in several writing contests, and a major publisher, Harlequin Historicals, is seriously considering my Regency historical romance. Perhaps you have experienced something like this, too -- plans that have percolated for years finally come together in a delicious new life brew.

This blog is a good time to reflect on how I got here and to clear off my shelves. In my office closet, I've got copies of a novel near and dear to my heart, and I'd like to put them into the hands of readers.

YOU reap the rewards!

While this Giveaway Hop has closed, this Blog spotlights my first published novel!

Keep reading to learn more...

A Private Proposal was so popular that this sweet contemporary romance sold out its original print run from Avalon Books, and I re-issued it through iUniverse to have available copies. Reader reaction persuaded me to use this book to create my Pittsburgh Connections series. Each winner in the blog hop giveaway received one autographed copy of this limited edition.

Hayley has two men in her life -- her boyfriend Peter, and Peter's business rival, David. She doesn't know it yet, but those two men are about to switch places.

Hayley Lancaster knows that getting involved with someone at work is a risky proposition. As she strives to impress David Mansfield, the handsome CEO, unexpected personal chemistry bubbles up between them. David is impressed… and distracted by the way his pulse quickens every time Hayley smiles at him. Past betrayals make him cautious;  he'd like to let down his guard. If only she didn't work in his company. If only she wasn't seeing his best friend Peter.  It doesn't take long for Hayley to recognize David's trust issues and to realize that, against her better judgment, she's falling for the boss.  When David's interest suddenly cools, Hayley is devastated. She expects to lose her job -- she just wishes she hadn't lost her heart.

Content Rating: Sweet Kisses

Once the Pittsburgh Connections series got off the ground, I updated the novels that I wanted to include in the series. A Private Proposal was re-written and re-titled as A Love He Can Trust (Book 1) in 2015. While Book 2, Carousel Magic, retained its title, that award-winning novella was released with a new cover and an autumn setting in 2016. Book 3, Restore My Heart - A Christmas Connection, launched in July this year, all ready for the upcoming holiday season.

As I face a future of writing the best romances I can, working with my new literary agent, and finding publishers for my novels, looking back on my first contemporary, sweet novel brings me joy and contentment.

Share the joy by purchasing, A PRIVATE PROPOSAL from my website.

Thanks for stopping by!

    1. I once flunked a mid-term exam because I had stayed up most of the night to finish reading GWTW. My mother's reaction to my excuse for flunking? "Gone With The Wind? Oh, that's all right, then." Thank heavens this book is in every library.

    1. Sounds like this book will be going to a library, perchance? I do love the idea of giving others a chance to read something I love.

  6. I find it difficult to clear any books off my shelves. It would have to be extremely bad and I haven't read any of those in a long time.

    1. I hear you! My husband and I have finally agreed that we have a finite number of shelves dedicated to books. Once those are filled - no more books. And we have to keep each other honest about any stray boxes of books that find their way into closets.

    1. I read quite a few books like that. They are a pleasure, but not so memorable or gripping that I feel the need to keep them. I put those books into a large straw basket and when that is filled, I donate the books to the local library. I feel very successful looking at the filled basket.

  14. I have a hard time letting books go. Currently, most of my books are
sitting in a storage unit which distresses me greatly. I would probably choose to give away a romance book from many years ago. I have many of those that are just plain cheesy now, but someone may enjoy them.

  15. I donated a bunch of books to our hospital a couple of years ago. They sell used soft covers for 25 cents and hard covers for 50 cents. It makes them a little bit of money and allows visitors/patients to find a variety of inexpensive reading material. A couple of books I plan to eliminate from my bookshelf include The Fault in Our Stars and Our Mutual Friend.
